As part of our Loire Bourgueil/Anjou Experience Eeekend, we visited our winemakers at La Jarnoterie in St-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil.
They have a collection of wine in their personal cellar 20m below ground. Most of the wine was collected by Carine Rezé’s father over many years from all over France and beyond. None have labels any more – just mould. They occasionally take one and try. What an exciting way to drink wine from your cellar. It could be vinegar, or it could be a rare classed growth.
No-one will ever know!
