Wines showed brilliantly last night at the 3D London Wine Tasting evening (St-James’s, London) despite being a leaf day in the biodynamic calendar.
The great thing was that all the wines above showed their real character, personality and typicity. Each wine was a favourite of somebody on the night, which speaks for itself. Gilles Sorin’s toothsome Coteaux du Layon right at the end was utterly sublime and a fitting end to a delicious and delightful line-up!
Personal standout wine of the night? They were all excellent however the lithe, elegant and supple Givry 1er Cru La Grande Berge 2012 from Domaine Ragot was sublime! Great to see so many 3D Partners on one night.
Champagne from the magnificent 2008 vintage, our new 1er Cru Chablis, white Bordeaux from Blaye, zingy 2014 NZ Heaphy, beautiful Givry 1er Cru, elegant Côtes de Bourg, the much-talked-about Chianti Riserva ‘345, our medal-winning Syrah from Waiheke Island NZ and the super, nobly rotten Coteaux du Layon.
