Occupying 14 hectares of vines and 3 hectares of olive groves within reach of the beautiful city of Siena, it is brilliantly run by Count Luigi Alberto Fumi Cambi Gado and his family. They are descendants of the original family who founded the estate. The wines are classic Chianti’s made from Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Ciliegiolo.
The estate features a lovely restaurant, the Granary di Castelpugna as well as three delightfully converted barns occupying wonderful views of Siena, where members can stay. Despite the fabulous history and tradition of Castel di Pugna, the impressively modern, high-tech winery gives a hint as to the quality and ambition of the present owners.

In the mouth it is fresh and tannic with ripe savoury black fruits; blackberry, raisin and plum with chocolate and mocha. It finishes with a lingering, spicy, powerful end.
